Transcript	[Page 1] La Crosse Nov 3rd 1861 Dear Sisters I once more take the opportunity to write you a few lines to inform how we are getting along. Ansel is still gaining & yesterday was dressed for the first time. Hee is vary poor & weak but is gaining strength quite fast & probably will soon get around again but will not be able to do any thing in some time yet. Hee thinks that he cannot come Home this fall as he has been sick now some time & will loose two months wages & then it would cost him about one hundred dollars to come as he wants to this season of the year as the fair [fare] is vary high
