Kind Parents,
It is with plesur that I tak my pen in hand to drop a few lines to you to let you no that I am well at present and hop when this com to hand it will find you the sam & I went to carch to day and sean som darks march[?] it was fon fur Jeff I tel you tha smel vary strong and who had vary good [?] from the western armey
